Each winter a special ice skating rink opens in Whistler Olympic Plaza, where you can go ice skating in the heart of Whistler Village with views of the surrounding mountains, the Olympic Rings and thousands of twinkling, festive lights.

Facilities and activities

  • First come/first served, no reservations or private bookings during public times
  • Limited capacity on ice surfaces 
  • Skaters are encouraged to bring their own skates and helmets
  • Helmets are encouraged, limited supply available (no charge)
  • Game zone (stick and puck play) available Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Skate aids (no charge)

Hours – Opening Friday November 25

Upper ice surface may be closed due to warm temperatures, heavy snow or rain

  • 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • 2:30 to 5 p.m. 
  • 6 to 8:30 p.m 

Maintenance closures: 

  • 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
  • 5 to 6 p.m.

Holiday hours:

  • December 24: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 2:30 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
  • December 25: 12 to 4 p.m. 
  • ​December 31: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 2:30 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m.
  • January 1:  Regular hours with maintenance closures
